Global History & Geography II Mr. Battaglia Welcome to Global History and Geography II. This is the second half of a two year Regents course. During this portion of the course, students will focus their study on the time period of 1789 (French Revolution) to the present. Students will investigate the continuing development of civilizations in different parts of the world and the impact geography has had on civilizations. This course will emphasize a number of themes that focus on the patterns of interactions within and between civilizations. All students are required to take and pass the New York State Global History and Geography Regents Examination at the end of the year as a prerequisite for gaining a high school diploma. Supply List: All students should have the following supplies for this course: - One 1-1/2 inch three ring binder with a packet of dividers.
- Loose Leaf Paper.
- Writing Utensils (Pens and Pencils)
- One package of Highlighters (same or assorted colors)
Class Rules and Regulations: - All students are expected to be on time for class. If late, please bring a pass from the office or the teacher from your previous class.
- Be prepared. All students are expected to have a writing utensil, something to write on, and any work that is due that day at the beginning of class.
- Abide by all school rules.
- Practice mutual respect with the teacher and your fellow students.
Students who break classrooms rules or regulations are subject to disciplinary action. Homework Policy: All homework is due on the assigned due date. Work not turned in on time will receive a grade of zero. I don’t accept late work. At this level I expect students to be responsible and accountable. If a student is absent, that student will be given one additional day for each day absent to complete homework. Extra Help: If students have questions for me outside the classroom or need help with an assignment or studying for a test, I am available during the following times: M-F 7:15am-8am. M-F 3rd Period (I have hall duty this period, but if students get a pass from me before homeroom, I can work with them during this time). M-F 8th period. This is my planning period so I recommend students get a pass before school to see me and make sure I will be in my room during this time. M-F: 2:30-2:55pm. I will also come to school earlier by appointment if that is the only time students can see me. Please utilize me if you need help. I want to help you succeed!
